Strange the Dreamer hits the shelves this week! I’m sure many of you have been waiting for for Laini Taylor’s book to finally released. Also out this week: A Crown of Wishes! I’ve heard so many good things about the first book in the series, I can’t wait to get started on it as well. Among the other books publishing this week, I’m most intrigued by Things I Should Have Known. This book is about sisters, one of whom is autistic, while the other is determined to help her find love. Sister dynamics, in my opinion, don’t feature enough in books, so I’m glad to find out about this one.
Over the years I’ve come across more than a handful of people who wanted to join bookstagram but didn’t. Why? Lack of props. Whenever I hear this reason, I’m sad because this means one less voice in the bookstagram community. The primary topic of conversation is books. Props are just that — props. Sometimes they’re the focus but most of the time they aren’t. This means that ultimately, props are not required.
February was a much slower reading month compared to January. That was to be expected since I read way more books then than I usually manage. Last month I read 10 books, which still is decent. In fact, while the quantity decreased, the quality increased. My average rating was 3.972 out of 5. That’s a jump of nearly 0.5!
Lots of new books as well as paperback and re-releases to choose from this week! I’ve been looking forward to the release of You’re Welcome, Universe due to the involvement of graffiti. I became particularly fascinated with graffiti during my undergrad days, and have made it my mission to pick up YA novels about it. Sadly, there haven’t been all too many. I also generally love the portrayal of art in fiction, so I can’t wait to pick up Piper Perish.
