First-person narrative allows readers to become the characters as it encourages readers to directly experience the thoughts and emotions of the chain characters. This is why first-person present tense is such a popular point of view in YA fiction. It offers a sense of immediacy because it seems to present an authentic voice for the characters.

The Ambiguity of Genre
Genre confuses many readers. At least it confuses readers on Goodreads. It’s not a rare occurrence that fantasy is shelved as science fiction and vice versa, or that books set in the 1980s are shelved as contemporary and as historical fiction with equal frequency.

At the moment my life’s pretty much developed a routine. I read, blog, bake, hang out with friends, spend time with my family, engage in sports, and try to figure out what’s next.
