I predominantly read books in English, so reviewing them in English was kind of a given. That and the fact that I’ve been mostly educated in English and live in a vastly English-speaking country.
For me Goodreads is first a site to organize my reading life, then a social networking platform for readers. I’ve been on Goodreads for a number of years but when I first started out, I was very haphazard about it.
Looking at my book reviews, it’s pretty obvious that the bulk of the books I’ve been reading were from the library. As a student I don’t have much of a disposable income.
When I really like a book that I started reading but have chores to complete, I occasionally switch to the audiobook. Yet at the back of my mind, I always have this nagging thought if I can truly say that I read that book when I’m done listening to the audiobook.
Earlier this week I bumped into one of my ex-colleagues from last year’s summer job. Just before we parted ways he asked for my number, saying his friend (another one of my ex-colleagues) would like to catch up with me.
