16 Things I Thought Were True is a misnomer. The proper title should have been 17 Things I Thought Were True. Yes, there were 17 things, not 16. Each of there were numbered, so I wonder why the title wasn’t changed or if it was too late to change the title, why the hashtag #thingsithoughtweretrue wasn’t capped at 16 times. The 17th occurrence could have used a different hashtag—one that could’ve ended this book with a bang.
Retrospect #32-34 (Triple Edition): August 24th
Epic Recs: August 2014
Epic Recs is back! Well, delayed, more like it but whatever. What matters is that Olena and I are still alive and kicking, and we did pick out recommendations for each other this month. I just didn’t post this earlier because I didn’t have access to the book yet and I didn’t know how I long I would still need to wait. I had the ebook reserved the day Olena emailed me and now I finally have it in my hands. Well, as much in my hands as a digital file can be.
Book Cover Culture #3: Delirium Trilogy
Popular books tend to have a multitude of different book covers not only in various languages but also for the English versions alone. The Delirium trilogy by Lauren Oliver is no exception. I know of five different English book covers for Delirium! Either way, I thought I’d take a look at this series since I intend to read it soon (it’s true, I haven’t read it yet).
Where’s My Book Mail?
For some reason mail delivery times have been severely delayed over the past few months, which has also been affecting my book orders. Whenever I open my mailbox nowadays, the first question on my mind is, “Where’s my book mail?” I won’t peg that on impatience either. I’m totally down with waiting a week. Two weeks are bearable. Three weeks are not cool. Four weeks are excruciating.
