Lots of books hit the shelves this week, spanning across all the genres. Even historical fiction’s expanding with two novels. Thriller and horror lovers also have more than the usually two to three books to choose from. Also notable: there are many more books from UK publishers to choose from than usual. Which ones do you intend to pick up?

The past week’s been busier than I thought it would be, what with a trip to Penang, work, and then being hit by motion sickness. In any case, I’m back on track, and on top of this week’s YA releases. Not too many new books out, but Cassandra Clare’s always a notable author, as is James Patterson. Personally, I’m looking forward to snagging a copy of In a Perfect World by Trish Doller.

Get ready to pour out your savings this month! May tends to be a very active publishing month for young adult fiction. UK YA books are unusually well-represented this week, as are mysteries and thrillers. Of course, the hype for A Court of Wings and Ruins by Sarah J. Maas is reaching its peak this week. On my end, I’ve pre-ordered Release by Patrick Ness and lined up Spellslinger by Sebastian de Castell. I’m also looking forward to Noteworthy by Riley Redgate. I really enjoyed her debut last year.
