October is off to a wondrous start with a fair number of new YA releases hitting the shelves this first week. Several of them have garnered hype in the book blogosphere, such as the long-awaited Replica by Lauren Oliver. While the blurb of Holding Up the Universe by Jennifer Niven received negative attention earlier this year, the book itself has been very well-received by early readers. As of today, the average Goodreads rating stands at 4.13 out of 5 stars. When the Moon Was Ours by Anna-Marie McLemore and Everyone We’ve Been by Sarah Everett have matching average ratings on Goodreads, adding to the list of books to look out for.
