This week’s Retrospect is rather different because it’s not one of my usual weekly recaps. I took a vacation not only from my everyday life but from blogging and social media as well. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have news to share.
#RavenBoysWeek
Since I’m taking a break from the blog, I figured I’d carve out some space for my lovely friends on the blog. I wanted to unify the content to make a big impact in terms of something we all care about. That something is The Raven Cycle.
Earlier this year, I picked up The Raven Boys at random because I was looking for available audiobooks on Overdrive. Even though the synopsis hadn’t moved me to start the series before, I liked the voice of the narrator in the preview. Lo and behold, now I’m lamenting the postponement of The Raven King.
Given how reluctantly I plunged into The Raven Cycle yet how dazed I emerged from reading the first three available books in the series, I felt the urge to spread the joy of discovering wondrous books such as these. The prose is impeccable and the atmosphere of the setting is so different from whatever else I’ve read because where else in YA literature do you find Scottish myth and folklore so mind-numbingly great?
Don’t believe me? Stick around for the #RavenBoysWeek and look out for all the amazing guest posts that push and celebrate The Raven Cycle.

Still so happy that you found the series to be so good.
I’m so excited to read everyone’s posts about The Raven Cycle and it’ll definitely help with the release date of The Raven King being pushed back.
