There are books aplenty to pick from this week’s releases to keep you busy all summer. If you prefer paperbacks, you won’t be in want either. With so many YA books hitting the shelves, you could probably play a good round of Jenga. Although, you’d probably need all our waking hours to read if you hope to finish your upcoming acquisitions before the new releases next week.

Looking at the contemporary releases lined up this week, it’s evident that summer’s arriving. Vibrant colours and the sun are staying with us over the next couple of months. At the same time, there’re some great fantasy books coming out next month as well. Meanwhile, I’m gonna take my pick of beach reads below among these YA books hot off the press.

This week’s a slow week for young adult releases. It’s also one of the rare weeks that there are fewer contemporary than mystery releases. Even the paperback releases seem to be on the back burner. The good news is that our bookshelves won’t threaten to collapse with the addition of yet another dozen books.

Have you seen the new covers of the reprint editions of the Delirium series? They look stunning! I almost wish I had held off on buying the UK editions when I did since I have yet to read those books. Among the new releases I’m looking forward to the summer anthology edited by Stephanie Perkins. I fully expect the audiobook to be great fun to listen to while revelling in the sun.

After last week’s massive round of new releases, this week is much more manageable. There hasn’t been too much hype around any of these books. If you’re looking for a low-pressure read, after the incredible hype that’s been surrounding A Court of Mist and Fury, here’s your chance.
