Preview: Nimona

August 15, 2015

Hardcover of Nimona by Noelle StevensonI have no idea what Nimona is about. The sole reason I picked it up at the library is that one of the Popsugar Reading Challenge prompts is “A graphic novel” and Nimona is one. Of course, I didn’t pick it all that randomly. I’ve seen a whole lot of people I follow on Instagram and Twitter gush about it. Seeing how I have no idea where to even start with graphic novels, I figured I might as well start here.

Reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor by Laini TaylorToday I start Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor. As I’m going in with all sorts of expectations, I’m reading the series along with Elaine, Sana, Lillian, Georgie and Crini. Turns out I’m the only one among us reading DoSaB for the fist time. I’m hoping I’ll come to love it as much as them seeing how they’re all re-reading.

Preview: Confess

May 7, 2015

Listening to the audiobook ConfessColleen Hoover is name I’ve seen floating around a lot yet never really paid much attention to. I own Maybe Someday but have yet to read it. When I saw the cover of Confess though, I decided to see what it’s about. Based on the watercolour inspired cover, I hoped it would involve art. It does.

Preview: Shadow and Bone

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo on a Window LedgeShadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo has been on my TBR pile since last year but I put off reading it for the vainest reason: I wanted to own a matching set of the trilogy. The edition I had chosen was the UK paperbacks published by Orion Books. That purple cover of Shadow and Bone completely won me over! Trouble is, this particular edition of Ruin and Rising (the third book) will only be released June 4, 2015.
