This week’s a great week because A Gathering of Shadows is coming out tomorrow. I know, I’ve yet to read A Darker Shade of Magic — I just knew waiting for the sequel would be easier that way. I often prefer to read sequels very soon after starting a series. That being said, altogether five books I’ve been waiting for are published this week, so that’s a lot of excitement!
Hot off the Press – Feb 15, 2016
SFF readers have a whole bunch of new books to look forward to this week. Still, there’s variety for a range of preferences. As for me, I’m looking forward to Audible clearing my pre-order of the audiobook of Bluescreen. I also have The Girl from Everywhere waiting for me on my bookshelf.
Bookstagram 101: Real Time vs. Planned Content
Initially I planned to either cover apps that aid productivity or programs to edit photos on computers. The more I thought about it, the more I became convinced that we should tackle this topic first: real time vs. planned content. There are different approaches and there’s no hard and fast rule but it is worth thinking about levels of spontaneity. Knowing which approach you choose will make it a lot easier to keep your bookstagram account going.
Hot off the Press – Feb 8, 2016
This week I’m most excited about the US release of Red Ink. It was the first book I reviewed here on the blog, and for all the book pushing, not so many have gotten hold of it. So, if you have the chance to read it, I say, go for it! I’ve also has my eye on Beautiful Broken Things, which I’m starting to read today.
Retrospect #109–110: February 7
Over the past two weeks I had a lot of things to complete at work. One of those projects included setting up a website. Since I don’t know how to write code from scratch, I had to source for a pre-made Wordpress theme and work from there. Thankfully I knew what I was looking for and found a suitable one pretty quickly.
