A few days ago Michael Rosenwald wrote an article for The Washington Post, reporting that researchers say online scanning and skimming affects serious reading.

For the most part, I try to keep my TBR (to be read) list manageable. Every other week I weed out books I no longer have any desire to read.

Today I write to you to defend my polygamous reading ways.

I hate dust jackets. There, I said it. Take a look at my bookshelf, and you’ll notice that I exclusively own paperbacks when it comes to my English fiction books.

Books without resolution seem to drive many readers up the wall. What happens in the end? is not a question many desire to ask after they have read the concluding sentence.
