Last month Olena recommended Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally. I love sports, so I was excited to read it. Sadly, I couldn’t come to grips with some of the issues. I felt there wasn’t enough sports and there’s was too much obsessing with boys. Priorities just didn’t make sense. But maybe that’s just me. For Olena, I recommended Red Ink by Julie Mayhew. She ended up liking it, saying that it was a refreshing read because it was different from the books she’s been reading lately. What stood out for her was the rawness and edginess of Red Ink.
As for this month, here are our epic recs:
Yes, I recommended Divergent because well, I just had to. I read it when I had no idea how popular it was, and really liked it, so hype or no hype, I think it’s a good book. Since the movie just came out, I figured it’s high time for Olena to read it. I’ll be reading Heartbeat by Elizabeth Scott. Apparently it’ll make me think about life. Since I enjoy contemporary books precisely for that reason, my fingers are tingling to get hold of the book.
