SG Book Deals Warehouse Sale, Singapore, Aug 5–14 2016

A glimpse of my haul from last year’s SG50 book sale

SG Book Deals’ warehouse sale is back! Last year’s SG50 book sale was a massive success, and you don’t want to miss out on it this time round.

Details

Dates:

August 5–14, 2016

Location:

438 Ang Mo Kio Ave 10

Industrial Park 1

Level 3

Singapore 569619

(Opposite Pathlight School, above Rozel Furnishing Store)

Opening Hours:

Weekends & public holidays: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Weekdays: 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Perks

$50 Box Sales

This is my favourite deal of the book sale. Pay $50 for a box (404 x 246 x 242mm) and fill it with books of your choice. You may take home as many books as you are able to fit into the sealed box. Of course, terms and conditions apply — eg. no magazines, books with designated stickers or books from the flash sale room.

Flash Sale Room

There will be special deals on selected titles, starting from $1. You may even be able to snag up box sets. These are separate from the books going on the main floor.

General Perks

If you’d rather not take home a box, you will be able to buy individual books from $8 or three books from $8. Since this is a clearance sale, expect more backlist titles over recent releases, though they are brand new. There will be more than 10,000 English titles available at the warehouse sale. No Chinese books will be for sale.

Expect a good range: young adult, children’s, general fiction, cookbooks, academic, IT, business, crafts, self-help, travel, Christian, etc. As you can see in the image posted above, the books are pretty varied. Last year I picked up a lot of cookbooks, some general non-fiction and a lot of novels.

What to Bring

Cash or NETS

Only cash and NETS will be accepted for payment. Forget credit cards, cheque books or any other forms of payment.

Sturdy Bags or Carriers

If you’re anything like me, you’ll go home with a tower of books. Come prepared with means to transport them, such as trolleys. If you’re driving, come early or be prepared to park outside the premises and walk.

Come Early

Last year’s warehouse sale was cut short by two days. To avoid disappointment, visit the book sale early.
