Book Cover Culture #6: Wildlife

September 18, 2014

Wildlife - Wilder Sommer - Fiona WoodOriginally published in Australia last lear June, Wildlife hit the international arena this year — April in Germany and the past week in the USA. The German title, Wilder Sommer doesn’t deviate too much from the English titles. Translated it means “wild summer” which is pretty clear, in my opinion.

Book Cover Culture #5: The Archived

September 13, 2014

BCC #5 - The Archived - Das Mädchen, das Geschichten fängt - Victoria SchwabI’m constantly surprised when I come across translated books with covers that are so vastly different from one another, you’d hardly think they’re of the same book. Book Cover Culture #4: Every Day

September 4, 2014

BCC #4 - Every Day - Letztendlich sind wir dem Universum egal - David LevithanIt’s about time I took a look at a book I’ve already read. As I scanned through my recent books on Goodreads, Every Day by David Levithan caught my eye. For one, David Levithan’s books have been translated into many languages and for another, I liked Every Day a lot. The prose was wonderful and the concepts were extremely thought-provoking.
