Retrospect #116: March 20

March 20, 2016

Retrospect 116 - Welcoming spring and general randomnessYou know those weeks when you sit down to reflect but the details seem fuzzy? Today’s one of those times. I know we celebrated my sister’s birthday this week with chocolate fondant which I baked. My driving lessons continued. I also baked giant chocolate chip cookies. Oh and I checked my letterbox countless times for the arrival of The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson. It remained woefully absent.

Hot off the Press – Mar 14, 2016

March 14, 2016

Hot off the Press — Stay up to date with weekly YA releases | wordrevel.comThis week’s a comparatively slow week on the publishing front. After so many popular releases in the weeks prior, it’s kinda nice for the hype to be quieter. Nonetheless, some of this week’s titles did catch my eye. Also, I did pre-order The First Time She Drowned.

Retrospect #115: March 13

March 14, 2016

Retrospect #115Lately my lack of reading time has been weighing on my mind. In January I only read three books because I dedicated a lot of my limited spare time to blogging. In February that number rose to eight books as I scaled back a little on blogging. Over the past two weeks however, I finished reading seven books but I blogged considerably little. I’m much happier for the books I managed to finish. Yet, blogging less and hardly checking my RSS feeds has made me feel more disconnected.

Sarah J. Maas Book Signing

March 13, 2016

Sarah J. Maas Book Signing — Meet-the-author session in Singapore on March 11, 2016 at KinokuniyaSarah J. Maas is currently on her Asia tour, which saw her spend a few days in Singapore. International authors, particularly bestselling ones, rarely visit our shores, so Elaine and I decided to check out the session on Friday, March 11.

Retrospect #114: March 6

Retrospect #114Driving lessons are going well and I passed my final theory test last week! This means once I clear my subjects and complete my extra auto transmission lesson, I’ll be able to book my driving test. If all goes well and there’s no sudden influx of test takers, I expect my driving test to be in two months. Other than that, I’m looking forward to Sarah J. Maas’s book signing this Friday. It’s very rare that international authors visit, so I’m sure that’s gonna be interesting to witness.
