Book reviews are relative. Book reviews are subjective. Objectivity doesn’t exist, especially not when it comes to qualitative analyses of books rather than quantitative ones. This means that the relativity of book reviews is pretty much inevitable.

If there is one problem common to bibliophiles, it’s the unending number of books they plan to read… eventually. These unread books make up the TBR pile, short for “to be read”. It’s no wonder then that one of my most popular posts this year was A Basic Guide to Managing TBR Piles.

After months of closure due to renovation, Sembawang Public Library finally opened its doors again last month. I like that it’s further up north away from the hustle and bustle of town, so not that many people have discovered it yet. It has such a hipster vibe too, I can’t help but love it.

When I first starting book blogging, I pretty much expected to post my reviews into a void with maybe an occasional reader. I didn’t expect anyone to ever comment on my blog or to ever be truly interested in anything I had to say, let alone be interested in who I was.

When I was younger I truly read all the time. I read with a torchlight under my blanket when my parents thought I was asleep. I read under the desk in class. I read while walking on the streets. I read during school assemblies with my books half-tucked into my bag. I read while eating. I read while waiting.
