ThanksReading is a project launched by Literally App to celebrate reading. The aim is to be thankful for everything related to books, such as authors, publishers and of course, books.

For many people, when they think of October 31, they think of Halloween. I think of Halloween second. First comes Reformation Day. So while many got their party on for Halloween, I hardly was involved, save for my Twitter handle.

I spent a good part of October on a personal read-a-thon while going on a blogging hiatus. Now that I’m sort of getting back into the swing of blogging, I thought it’d be interesting to do a read-a-thon reflection.

Nobody is truly safe on the Internet, so all the more should online safety a huge concern. For those who still haven’t heard about Kathleen Hale and her essay that The Guardian posted, you can read it here (it’s a link that doesn’t improve its page rankings, found via Jamie.)

Most of us do know better than to plagiarize. We don’t take the work of others and pass it off as our own. That’s stealing. Plagiarism is unethical and entirely unfair to content producers. To protect against accusations of plagiarism, most bloggers make sure to cite their sources. That’s a good practice to adopt. However, a lot of people don’t seem to realise that citing wrong sources can be considered plagiarism!
