Word Revel (formerly Dudette Reads) was born on 12th June 2013. This means today marks the very first blogoversary!
I’m so excited about about this because I had no idea where this blog was going. Truth be told, I still don’t know where it is going but I do know that I am here to stay. The past year of book blogging has brought a lot of fun and many more books into my life. I also met some of the loveliest people through blogging, so I’m immensely grateful for that as well!
Amazingly, I’ve read more than a hundred books (121, if you care) since I wrote my first blog post on Dudette Reads. In 2013, I read 68 books while in 2012 I read 30. Exceeding a hundred has seemed very much unthinkable to me in the the past few years because I’ve always found ways to make myself busy. But somehow surrounding myself (virtually) with so many book lovers pushed me into making use of all the pockets of time I still had to read. All my life I’ve loved books and reading, so it’s a pleasant surprise to me that that love has grown even more over the past year.
As it is, I want to thank my lovely friends and followers for making my entrance into the book blogosphere such a wonderful experience, and I hope that we’ll continue to celebrate books together for a long time to come!
PS: Watch this space. Something new is coming your way over the next few days ;)

Happy Blogoversary! That’s awesome that you’ve read over 100 books since starting your blog. I don’t think I actually have, and I have an extra three months than you. >.> Whoops! So happy you’ve stuck around this long and look forward to see what you come up with next! <3

Thank you, Asti! Yeah, I’m still mind-boggled about exceeding a hundred books within a year. I thought that that was a number I could reach in my childhood but not anymore now that life has basically taken over. Haha. And yay! I’m glad too that you’ve stuck around as well <3

HAPPY BLOGOVERSARY, MY DARLING!
To be honest, I don’t think many of us know where blogging is supposed to take us. I had no idea what to expect when I published my first post back on June 3rd 2013 ^.^ I just wanted to get out there and share my bookish thoughts. Never in a million years would I have dreamed of having my own WEBSITE and heaps of amazing blogging friends and GAH. Blogging is amazing, and I cannot thank whatever forces that led me here enough.
I shall be keeping an eye out for your super special stuff (although I think I know part of it? :D). I look forward to us being bloggy buddies for a long time to come.

Thank you thank you thank you! :D
I’m so with you on not expecting blogging friends. I basically expected a void/soundboard/space/whatever into which I could shout/write my thoughts about books, with the very occasional response from an Internet sojourner who happens to also love books. This community was too out there for my own imagination. Heh.

*tacke hugs* I luh ya dudette, I luh ya luh ya dudette. If you don’t get the reference to that super catchy but not really good song by Jennifer Lopez, well that was a reference to it.
Happy first blogoversary to you, and I love you and your discussions and thanks a lot for those wonderful thought-provoking pieces and I love you. *tighter hug*
Joséphine says
*hugs back* Thank you, Shannelle :D I figured it was from a song but I didn’t realize that it was based off Jennifer Lopez. Lol.
And awwww! I can totally feel the love <3 *hugs back some more*
