When it comes to book photography, nothing is simpler than grabbing a book, placing it on a white desk and snapping away. Or is it? Truthfully, you don’t need a white desk, cool as it might look. While the above photo depicts a section of my desk, I hardly take any of my book photos on my desk.

For many people, when they think of October 31, they think of Halloween. I think of Halloween second. First comes Reformation Day. So while many got their party on for Halloween, I hardly was involved, save for my Twitter handle.
A Year with my Kindle Paperwhite
A little over a year ago, I took the plunge and ordered a first generation Kindle Paperwhite from Amazon. I first read about the impending emergence of electronic reading devices in 1999. Back then, I already knew that I wanted one and looked forward to the day I would own one. Then when Amazon introduced the Kindle in 2007, I was excited. But I decided against obtaining one then because I weighed the benefits and decided I would wait.
Photography #1: An Introduction
Yay to a new series of posts! Clearly it’s going to be all about photography. But beyond that? I’m still trying to figure things out. I considered categorising this under photography tips because that’s where the idea came from — requests for me to share tips for book photography. Yet somehow that doesn’t feel right because I am not an expert photographer.
