Mise-en-scène: Christmas

December 25, 2015

Mies-En-Scene: Christmas – Nordic Bakery Cookbook

Christmas usually is a quiet affair at home. We’ve never lived near extended family, so we don’t ever have big celebrations. Still, we’ve always set up a Christmas tree and since I learnt to bake when I was 16, I’ve been baking goodies every year.

I remember in the past I’ve baked kipferl, lebkuchen and florentines, zimtkugeln, etc. Generally, I would pick baked goods that either aren’t locally available or are sold as poor renditions of the original ones. This year, however, I decided to make gingerbread from the Nordic Bakery Cookbook by Miisa Mink, which I received from Chri, my secret Santa for #TBTBSanta.

How do you usually spend Christmas?

To see how Georgie is spending Christmas, look out for her photo on her blog. If you’re participating in Mise-en-scène, leave your link in the linky widget down below!

Mise-en-scène is a weekly feature/meme that Georgie and I created to challenge ourselves in (bookish) photography.

[…] 31. New favorite book blog you discovered in 2015? This will forever be a hard question – there are so many terrific blogs I read on a consistent basis! – but I’ll give a shout-out to Word Revel. Joséphine’s photography is breath-taking, and I find myself looking forward to her weekly Mise-en-Scène posts {such as this one}. […]
