Memory fails. That is an inevitable truth. One way to combat this failure is to write things while they are still fresh. In this case, these things I speak of are my thoughts and opinions on books I’ve read.
Once in a while I come across a book and vaguely remember having read it years ago. Beyond that though, I can’t say much more. At other times I wonder what the title of this great book was but I come up short. Goodreads has thus served me well though all those shelves with books I also intend to read has become a bit unwieldily for my review purposes. With that, I have decided to start a book blog to chronicle my reading life.
I’m the kind of person who wishes she had more time to read. I would willingly trade sleep for more reading time. In fact, I sometimes wish that instead of spending 8 hours asleep every night, reading could be used instead to recharge. As it is, I am currently an undergraduate who has stacks of academic papers to read and write, and I also am athlete competing in a local league with her club. Besides that, I have many other interests in the likes of baking, sewing and photography.
Either way, I spend my commutes and a lot of my free time in between activities reading YA fiction. When I’m in the mood to expand my horizons a little more, I have a go non-fiction books. Once in a while I turn to adult fiction but find myself returning to YA because at the end of the day, unlike those characters, I don’t have a marriage to worry about. My only truly adult concern right now probably is finding a job upon graduation.
So, this marks the beginning of my book blogging journey.
