A Peek In My Bag
There are a few essentials that I obviously won’t leave the house with: keys, wallet, phone and transportation card. Further personal essentials include: water bottle, lip balm and earphones. Besides these necessities, there are things which typically are with me: a book, Kindle, portable charger, pen and SD cards.
Rarely Without a Book
Carrying a book with me is a habit I developed when I was nine. I had just about discovered the wonders of libraries and so had a whole lot of new titles to read. I didn’t want to pass up on perfectly empty pockets of waiting time. Also, my parents had a lot of friends without children or had children who weren’t around my age, so I rather busied myself with reading than making awkward conversation when visiting them.
Nowadays I read a lot on the go, so there always is a book in my bag. Even if I don’t have space for a book or my Kindle, my phone is always loaded with at least one or two audiobooks that I intend to listen to. And thanks to the Marvin app, I actually find reading ebooks fairly pleasant on my phone as well, so no matter what, I have some form of books with me wherever I go.
What’s in your bag?

I love “what’s in my bag” posts! It’s fascinating to me to see the contents of someone’s daily life laid out in the open. I generally carry pretty much the same things all the time – wallet, MetroCard, earphones, a cell phone charger, a tiny makeup + hygiene kit, a pen, notebook, keys, and a book, always a book ;)

The first thing I do when someone posts such a photo is check if they carry a book wherever they go. It’s like a litmus test of how well I think we’ll get along on first impression. Lol. Naturally, I approve very much of your everyday items ;)
