Project 52 – Twists & Turns

March 4, 2016

Bookish Scene – Twists and Turns

Twists and turns are so important to me when reading books. Without them I get bored pretty quickly, which is why I infinitely hate spoilers. The funny thing is that for TV shows and movies, I sometimes even seek out spoilers instead. When it comes to books though, I like to try and figure out the twists. That’s half the fun of reading. Three books I particularly enjoyed for the ways they surprised me were Vicious by Victoria Schwab, Virtuosity by Jessica Martinez and The Lucy Variations by Sara Zarr.

Are twists and turns crucial to you too?

Glancing at the photo, I thought the theme was “Books with V’s in the title.” :)

YES to both loving twists and turns and therefore hating anything that could possibly be seen as a spoiler–like even knowing there IS a twist. I find it so aggravating to see something like “Will keep you guessing right to the end–then a shocking twist turns everything you thought you knew upside down!”

Twists and turns actually aren’t that important to me when I’m reading. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good plot twist, but it’s just one way to keep me interested in a story. Maybe it’s because I’m a big re-reader, so I’ve always read books where I knew what was going to happen (at least in broad strokes), but for me what keeps me reading most often is having engaging characters and a world I want to immerse myself in.

    I still hate spoilers, though.

I love a good twist and turn in a book in reading. It adds another eleven of excitement and gets me even more immersed in a story. I love being surprised when it comes to my reading!

I’m going to start Vicious soon as well! Even more excited for it now that I know you enjoyed the twists and turns in it :)
This project looks like so much fun! I’ll have to keep an eye on it and you and Georgie’s updates :)

I’m so glad to see VICIOUS on the picture because this makes me want to start it soon even more (Seriously, I have no idea why it’s still on my TBR, maybe I’m just afraid that it’s not as awesome as everybody says…^^)
