CONFESSIONS OF AN ANGRY GIRL by Louise Rozett

July 27, 2013

Premise of Confessions of an Angry Girl Confessions of an Angry Girl is more than a fitting title. Rose has a number of reasons to be angry. As if being a freshman isn’t daunting enough, Rose has greater worries when she starts high school. She lost her father. He left for Iraq as a contractor…

AND THEN THINGS FALL APART by Arlaina Tibensky

July 15, 2013

I am sorely disappointed. I picked up this book because of the premise. Keek is a writer who is cut off from her friends because she has no Internet access and her cell is broken. That to me was a promise that Keek would be an introspective character with witty or poignant observations to share….

SPLINTERED by Anita G. Howard

July 12, 2013

Howard became a whole lot more grotesque and twisted than it already was when Lewis Carroll first imagined it. “Splintered” is a quasi sequel and adaptation of the much loved classic of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll; a modern-day tribute, if you will. Alyssa can not only hear…

POSSESSION by Elena Johnson

July 3, 2013

Book cover of POSSESSION (Possession #1) by Elena JohnsonI still am surprised that I made it past the first 100 pages and went on to complete Possession. The writing was mechanical and some parts made next to no sense. Sure, Vi’s world is not a world that we know, so things naturally are different. No matter how different and imaginative her world is though, it is possible to weave in explanations into the story without stilting the writing. Sadly, I was confused and and hated the stilted writing style.
