Photography is one of my passions. That’s why I constantly seek books that feature photography. I can’t get enough of them, so I was really excited when I learnt about the Pippa Greene series. The Rule of Thirds was a delightful book, which I reviewed a while back. Then the opportunity arose to interview the author, Chantel Guertin, so let’s welcome her here on Word Revel today!
Reading in Public
During my stay in Geneva a couple of weeks ago, I noticed something. There were more people reading in public than I ever see in Singapore. While waiting for buses and trams, more than a handful of people were reading at the stops. As I strolled through the weekend bric-à-brac at Plainpalais, I saw a few people basking in the sun with their books. This one man stood out to me as he sat beside the loud and active skatepark. He in contrast was the picture of serenity as he read and drank his coffee.
Hot off the Press – Nov 16, 2015
Retrospect #98: November 15
Has it ever happened to you that you carefully packed something away and then couldn’t find it anymore? I did precisely that with the quick release plate for my camera. Frankfurt Book Fair 2015, Vol. 1
Last month I found myself at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2015 (FBM) in Germany. It wasn’t something I had planned months in advance. In fact, it hadn’t even crossed my mind to attend until my father suggested it. I was having lunch with my parents and as all conversations go, one topic led to another until my dad asked when the FBM would be held. Turned out, it was a mere three weeks away. Thankfully the window for press tickets wasn’t closed yet, so I turned my day upside down trying to pull everything together.
