When I was younger, my mother would often scold that I read too much. She claimed that if I kept it up, I’d have to wear glasses. Since my younger sister got glasses much earlier than me, I didn’t listen to my mother. Yet true enough, the week I turned 13, my optometrist told me I had to get a pair of glasses too.
While I hated glasses as I grew up, I didn’t mind them so much anymore when I found this pair at an optical shop during my freshman year at university. Besides, I need those glasses to be able to read all the books.

Those frames are pretty fabulous, I must say! I’ve had glasses since I was five years old *sigh* But, originally, it was only for my astigmatism. And then because I was such an avid reader/abused my eyes, then my 20/20 vision reduced and my glasses were no longer just because of astigmatism. ‘-.-
But I really don’t mind having glasses, since I cannot remember a time without them. Plus, I think they do give off an aura of intelligence (I don’t mean this in a conceited way, promise) + the frames can be so darn pretty!

Yes! And I love how my frames are actually purple yet can look black, depending on the lighting. And glasses at five years of age? That must’ve been really bothersome!
Lol. I used to wear my glasses during seminars when I lacking sleep from the night before, so I would at least look somewhat alert to my professors ;D

Oh, this is so pretty! And I never even knew you had glasses. I just know you have red hair. :D

Thank you, Shannelle! :) Well, glasses aren’t all that much part of my identity, I guess? Some of my former high school classmates who still know me today even forgot that I don’t have perfect eyesight. Haha.

I got glasses when I was ten and I hated it at the time because it was just something extra I had to adjust living with during my waking hours. I tried everything from washing my eyes with dew drops to drinking countless glasses of carrot juice but I couldn’t do anything to stop my myopia from intensifying. However, somewhere along the way I started to be okay with them and like them and now I cannot imagine life without them.
Anyway, I really like this feature and I love your take on this week’s prompt!

I didn’t hate it so much because of the extra thing to worry about but rather because I hated looking like a nerd and it didn’t help that I got braces around the same time. I tried carrots too! Lol. I only came to be okay with glasses when I found the pair that I own now.
And I’m happy to know you like my take ;) I like how you seized the opportunity to feature more Harry Potter! :D
