THE NOMINATION
Technically I’ve been sitting on this post for more than a month now. I left this post as a draft, bearing only the title. Every time I thought I’d post it, I wasn’t quite sure what to say. One thing I do know to say is thank you to Sophie @ Paper Breathers and Annie @ The Runaway Reader for nominating me for this One Lovely Blog Award! Sophie nominated me in January, and a couple of weeks later, so did Annie. And I can’t express how surprised I was that anyone even took notice of my quiet little corner in the vastness of the cyber world. So yes, thank you two for thinking of me when you did!
BLOGROLL INSTEAD OF NOMINATIONS
Now, I’m supposed to nominate 7 people, and share 7 things about myself. But a few of those I wanted to nominate have already received nominations, so I decided to take this opportunity to set up my blogroll instead. That’s another one of those things I’ve been wanting to do but just have not done. So yes, blogroll coming to you by the end of this week, so watch the space in my sidebar!
7 THINGS ABOUT ME
I have no idea what it is about me that might interest anyone, so I’ll just go with whatever comes to mind.
- My favourite fruits are mangoes, closely followed by cherries, raspberries and watermelons. Although, I prefer drinking apple juice.
- In my life I’ve officially learnt 5 languages: German, French, English, Latin and Mandarin. Doesn’t mean I remember all.
- I’ve gone through even more sports than languages: aerobics, volleyball, handball, basketball, tennis, table tennis, floorball, cross country, track and field hockey. 5 of those I’ve done competitively.
- I taught myself to play the recorder and the piano. Although, I did take piano and keyboard lessons on and off whenever I had the time.
- For a couple of years I also learnt to play the drums.
- Even though I’ve developed a preference for staying out of the limelight, I miss my choir days, and theatre days too. What can I say? The stage is a magical place!
- Tea before coffee, always.
Ahh, sorry for the super-late comment! But I can’t wait to see your blogroll once it’s up – I love that this award has allowed me to discover so many awesome blogs. :)
I love mangoes and tea too! And one of my New Year’s Resolutions is to learn French, but it hasn’t happened yet. I’m avoiding Duolingo until the summer when I have more time to do non-school stuff, haha.

No worries! I see you were busy with school and stuff. Glad to see you back online, taking a breather :) (No pun intended! Haha.)
Yay to mangoes and tea! :D If you decide to learn using Duolingo, I’d still suggest getting some kind of introductory textbook because rules aren’t extensively explained on there. But it is a very good practice tool.

Hmm, good to know! I know some people were having trouble with the accuracy of spelling/grammar on Duolingo, so I’ll definitely look at some other resources too.

Yum, I love mangoes and cherries too! So cool that you know so many languages and sports! A bit sad you don’t play ice hockey because that’s one of my favourite sports! And I definitely miss choir as well. And haha, for me it’s always coffee before tea.

Yay! You have good taste ;) Well, like I said, I don’t necessarily remember all. Hahaha. I’d say I’m fluent in English and German. Latin’s history (no pun intended), Chinese never really appealed to me (I only took because my dad wanted me to), and French, well, I hope I can reacquire the language. Tea’s so much healthier! HAHA.

Congrats on the nomination!
Now, what in the world is “Floorball”?

Thank you! :)
Floorball is a type of hockey that is played indoors. Rules largely deviated from ice hockey, although players wear no protective gear. The ball is made out of plastic, as are the blades of the sticks. Shafts tend to be manufactured from composite materials.
