Mise-en-scène #8: Art

March 13, 2015

A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray for Mise-en-scene ArtWhen it comes to art there are a multitude of media. The one medium which most captured my heart since I was young is watercolours. I love the vibrancy yet softness that they often convey. They just scream prettiness to me, which never fails to enamour me. It’s no wonder then that the moment I laid my eyes on A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray, I was swept off my feet.

Redundant RSS Feeds

March 9, 2015

Reading RSS FeedsThere are a lot of blogs that I read regularly. In order to stay on top of them, I’ve come to embrace RSS feeds. Years ago I used to simply bookmark the URLs and visit all the blogs one by one. With the burgeoning blogs I read though, that’s a very time-consuming undertaking, so I very much prefer to read via RSS feed readers.

Mise-en-scène #7: Reflections

March 6, 2015

Reflections on The Bell JarWhen we first picked reflections as one of our themes, I was thinking more along the lines of mirrors or still waters. Since I’m still in the midst of settling down in my new home though, it slipped my mind to obtain a mirror for this photo challenge. Bathroom mirrors hardly ever produce flattering results, so I didn’t get to play with literal reflections this week.

SCARLET (The Lunar Chronicles #2) by Marissa Meyer

March 4, 2015

Book cover of SCARLET (The Lunar Chronicles #2) by Marissa MeyerLittle Red Riding Hood doesn’t count among my favourite fairy tales. In fact, I have no fondness for it at all. That’s why I was hesitant about about reading Scarlet when I found out that the retelling was based on that fairy tale. Amazingly, I thoroughly loved Scarlet — even more so than Cinder.
