On Wednesday, I had the honour of meeting Rachel Heng and Sharlene Teo for afternoon tea — all thanks to the lovely people at Pansing Books who invited me to join them for this author meet-up.
SHADOWS OF SELF by Brandon Sanderson
Compared to the previous four books in the Mistborn series, Shadows of Self took a slight dip. It sure was entertaining but despite the mix of fantasy and murder mystery, it wasn’t as memorable.
November 2017 Overview
In November, I found a lot more time to read than I had expected. My family’s home has been under renovation since September. With the completion weeks overdue, I thought I’d be much busier overseeing the progress. I did spend a lot of time on that but my reduced Internet access saw me turning more to books than to my laptop and smartphone. Plus, I was determined to work myself through the pile of books that I received for review. Overall, I finished 14 books, making November a really good reading month.

Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope you’re enjoying a lovely time with your loved ones! With that, we’ve just one week left of 2017. Before we dive into the 2018 releases though, here’s your final weekly round-up of 2017.

Home means so many different things to different people, and I’ll Be Home For Christmas definitely captured that through the various short stories. Although, anthologies usually leave me with mixed feelings. I’ll Be Home For Christmas was no different. While I adored most short stories and the poem at the beginning, there were a few that I didn’t enjoy, and a couple of which that even left me confused.
