Generally we like to keep themes open to interpretation. Occasionally we do include more specific ones like for Autism Awareness Month this April. Banding together to support causes adds visibility, so that’s our own little way of lending support. Either way, we prize creativity, so there hardly is a right or wrong approach. As long as books are involved and your photo fits the theme in some way, you’re golden.
SEVEN WAYS WE LIE by Riley Redgate
Seven Ways We Lie was very ambitious. With seven main characters a lot could go wrong: unresolved plot lines, not enough depth, loss of focus and characters that might be too similar. I’m glad to say that Seven Ways We Lie didn’t suffer from any of these shortcomings. In fact, the choice to integrate so many characters’ perspectives worked!
Ten Ways to Acquire Audiobooks
Last year a third of the books I read were audiobooks. Naturally, those who noticed asked me where I get all my audiobooks from. They’re usually more expensive than hardcover books and so, are the least economic formats for our wallets. Still, I think the higher prices are justified because you’ve got to pay the narrators too. That being said, there are many ways to acquire audiobooks without sacrificing a days’ worth of meals. With that, I present to you ten ways to acquire audiobooks!
Project 52 – Easter
This week’s Project 52 theme is Easter, so I rummaged through my shelf for a suitable book. I vaguely remembered a book from my childhood which featured easter bunnies. After a while I found it tucked away between other colourful books. Illustrations in children’s books are always so much fun to look at and make them all the more memorable. Even though I hadn’t read Osterhasengeschichten (from German: Easter Bunny Stories) I didn’t forget it from my early childhood reading days.
