So, you acquired a DSLR in the hopes of taking better photos or you plan to in the near future. To fully maximise the potential of that snazzy new camera, you want to know how to use it. That means learning the basic functions and how to control the exposure. Photography is about capturing your subjects as well as the light in the best possible way. Project 52 – Twists & Turns
Twists and turns are so important to me when reading books. Without them I get bored pretty quickly, which is why I infinitely hate spoilers. The funny thing is that for TV shows and movies, I sometimes even seek out spoilers instead. When it comes to books though, I like to try and figure out the twists. That’s half the fun of reading. Three books I particularly enjoyed for the ways they surprised me were Vicious by Victoria Schwab, Virtuosity by Jessica Martinez and The Lucy Variations by Sara Zarr.
Project 52 – Feb Recap
Somehow doing a Project 52 makes the weeks pass be really quickly. A new theme marks the passing of yet another week and now February has already passed us by. I love the enthusiasm that overflows from the Bookish Scene participants and it’s always interesting to see how differently everyone comes to interpret that various themes. To round up another great month, I picked out my favourites and am sharing them here today.
MORE HAPPY THAN NOT by Adam Silvera
For the month of February Hazel picked More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera as her book recommendation for me to read. What made this round of Epic Recs different was that we specifically chose to go with audiobooks. This also meant that for once we didn’t pick books the other already owned, and so had free rein.
Hot off the Press – Feb 29, 2016
When it comes to hotly anticipated YA releases, science fiction and fantasy generally overshadow other genres on YA book blogs. Looking at this week’s releases however, it’s evident that contemporary fiction too is thriving. While I hadn’t heard of most of these contemporary YA books before, I’ve picked out a couple that might interest me.
