In My Life
Holiday Mode
Yep, I’m recapping last week right in the middle of this one. When you’re travelling, time no longer remains an established absolute. Just on Monday I kept thinking the following day would be Wednesday. Yesterday I also kept thinking the next day would be Wednesday. There you have it — my mind was prepared for three Wednesdays this week.
This also explains my sporadic updates that will take over this October. I’ve so many things I want to say in this space, not to mention piles of books waiting to be reviewed. However, by the time I get back in the evenings and sit down to stare at my laptop screen, that’s really all I do — stare. Typing’s been somewhat beyond me.
Where to Find Me
Fret not, if you think you might miss me. I’ll be posting a fair bit of photos on Life Revel. In fact, I already documented my arrival in Europe with photos. Otherwise, I happily tweet away during all hours of the day. Plus, there’s always Instagram for bookish photos and for my travel photos, etc.
Book Haul
Before I left last week, I still managed to consolidate the books hauled up to the end of September. Since it was my birthday, I took the liberty to order a bunch of books since I knew nobody else would gift me any. Except the lovely Chiara, that is. She sent me a book that we intend to read together soon. Anyway, here’s the list of books I acquired:
- When I Was Me by Hilary Freeman
- Night Owls by Jenn Bennett
- Capital Girls by Ella Monroe
- Driftwood Summer by Patti Callahan Henry
- The Coincidence of Coconut Cake by Amy E. Reichert
- Savannah from Savannah by Denise Hildreth
- Survival Kit by Donna Freitas
- Making Pretty by Corey Ann Haydu

Wanderlust was first and foremost on my mind. It’s no wonder I decided to write a guide to packing books for travel. The Mise-en-scène scene was tears.
