Hot off the Press – November 21, 2016

November 21, 2016

Hot off the Press — Stay up to date with weekly YA releases | wordrevel.comThis week is a little unusual. There were no paperback or re-releases that I could find. That leaves us with ten newly published books. Among those Scythe caught my attention for its intriguing premise. With no more disease left in their world, the only way to die is at the hands of a scythe. Even though I expect it to be fascinating, I’ve not decided yet if I’ll read it. I’ll probably look through more reviews to ascertain the levels of gore first.

Hot off the Press — Stay up to date with weekly YA releases | wordrevel.comBesides the UK release of Heartless by Marissa Meyer, the only book that has been making waves in the book blogosphere ahead of its publication is This Is Our Story by Ashley Elston. That being said, I prefer the flatter book cover designs of The Darkest Minds trilogy by Alexandra Bracken. If you prefer paperbacks to hardcovers, and are looking for completed series, you might want to check them out.

Hot off the Press – November 7, 2016

Hot off the Press — Stay up to date with weekly YA releases | wordrevel.comAs we approach the end of the year, the publishing industry once again heads into a lull. There are more paperback and re-releases than new ones. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. If you’re like me, you’ll have acquired quite a lot of 2016-releases without having had the time to read them all. Now’s the time to catch up on all those books before things pick up again in January. That being said, I definitely recommend you pick up Heartless by Marissa Meyer. It’s one of my favourites this year.

Hot off the Press – October 31, 2016

Hot off the Press — Stay up to date with weekly YA releases | wordrevel.comThird week running without a single YA historical fiction release. Makes me wonder, aren’t there enough readers for publishers to fill that void? Is there a lack of authors interested in writing historical fiction? Or does too much of what could constitute historical fiction get absorbed into fantasy?

Hot off the Press — Stay up to date with weekly YA releases | wordrevel.comThough there aren’t any particularly hyped books coming out this week, there are a substantial number of titles to choose from. Markedly absent from the new releases is historical fiction again. Other than that, I’m sure there’s something to satisfy every reading taste. Remember, clicking on the book covers will lead you to Goodreads where you can read the synopses to find out more.
