If you’re planning to order books online for Christmas gifts, shipping deadlines are approaching. Here are the newly released young adult books that you can still get your hands on in time.

You know the year is almost over when the number of new releases keeps dwindling. This week The Fate of the Tearling by Erika Johansen should be a highly anticipated book for you if you love The Queen of the Tearling series. This week is a little unusual. There were no paperback or re-releases that I could find. That leaves us with ten newly published books. Among those Scythe caught my attention for its intriguing premise. With no more disease left in their world, the only way to die is at the hands of a scythe. Even though I expect it to be fascinating, I’ve not decided yet if I’ll read it. I’ll probably look through more reviews to ascertain the levels of gore first.

Besides the UK release of Heartless by Marissa Meyer, the only book that has been making waves in the book blogosphere ahead of its publication is This Is Our Story by Ashley Elston. That being said, I prefer the flatter book cover designs of The Darkest Minds trilogy by Alexandra Bracken. If you prefer paperbacks to hardcovers, and are looking for completed series, you might want to check them out.
