Comparing Different Books by Same Author
Authorship has a way of affecting readers. Even if all we know is the author’s name and nothing more, the name matters.
Take one of my favourite authors, Jessica Martinez. I adored her first three contemporary books. They were stylistically straight to to the point and I liked her approach to characters and setting. Then she brought out a mystery novel. I absolutely want to read it but only because she wrote it. The synopsis alone wasn’t entirely convincing to me. In any case, I bought the Kindle edition of Kiss Kill Vanish and am curious if I’ll like it just as much as her other books.
Retrospect #103: December 20
I got to spend a week on vacation in Penang, Malaysia. It was a “do nothing” sort of holiday with my parents. We didn’t do much travelling around, opting to simply enjoy having no commitments. While there was very heavy rain on some days, we still had some sunny days, perfect for the beach.

The whole point of a book fair is to showcase books. Of course, the Frankfurt Book Fair was no exception. After sharing about the activities, exhibitors and people I met in Vol. 1–3, I realised that I was missing a post that presents to you all the books.
