After weeks and months of seeing bloggers rave about Dear Martin, I can’t wait to pick it up too. I’m pretty curious about I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter and A Line in the Dark as well. These three represent black, Mexican and Chinese youths respectively, which is heartening because there is by far not enough ethnic diversity in YA literature. The Innocence Treatment also sounds intriguing as it deals with mental health in science fiction.
September 2017 Overview
September was a busy month for me. With preparing for our home renovation, packing and moving things into storage, I didn’t have much time to sit down and read. What I did manage was to listen to audiobooks as I moved about. That’s how I still read 15 books altogether. Of the books I read, 10 were audiobooks, four were paperbacks and one was an ebook.

Some big names are on the list of this week’s young adult book releases, notably John Green with Turtles All the Way Down, Maggie Stiefvater with All the Crooked Saints, and Amy Reed with The Nowhere Girls. Joelle Charbonneau’s Dividing Eden novella, Into the Garden also releases this week as an ebook. Rae Carson’s The Gold Seer Trilogy also comes to a conclusion as Into the Bright Unknown hits the shelves.
Hot off the Press – October 2, 2017
Can’t believe it’s October already! I feel like September only just started; probably because I spent most of last month packing and shifting stuff ahead of our home renovation, which means the days just melded into one another for me. With renovations ongoing the coming month, then moving and unpacking again, I’ll not have a lot of time to blog but I’ll check in when I can.
