Retrospect #90: September 20

September 20, 2015

Mood Reading with Trouble is a Friend of Mine and Glory O'Brien's History of the FutureI probably finish 98% of the books I start reading, even if it takes me a year. Yet I’m not a stickler for finishing a book before starting the next. In fact, I’m usually in the midst of several books. Once in a while I even find myself alternating between books in one seating. At the very least, I almost always give myself options when I want to read. Such is the life of a mood reader.

Retrospect #89: September 13

This week's book haul stackAfter weeks of talking about it, Elaine, Tory and I finally met up. We had coffee and traded a couple of our books. I happily got rid of my copy of A Court of Thorns and Roses. Can’t wait to hear what the two of them think of the book when they get down to reading it.

Designed September Blogging ScheduleBeing ahead of myself feels like such an accomplishment. I’m not done scheduling the entire September as I had hoped I’d manage. However, I’ve generally had at least two to three days buffer ahead of me in terms of blogging. Considering that alms all the posts I wrote in my two years of blogging were written within 12 hours of publication, that is huge progress. Also, check out the iPad screen in the photo above! I’ve put together a blogging planner that works for me.

Books by Julie MayhewSometimes life passes you by and you feel like you hardly remember anything. I had one of those weeks, though I do remember baking a cake. There’s tangible evidence of it in my fridge and it tastes wonderful too.

Retrospect #84–86: August 23

Retrospect 84 - Graphic NovelsI decided to give graphic novels a go, starting with Nimona, which was great fun. When I was still in secondary school I used to borrow Manga books from the libraries (public library, school library, language school library) but then stopped reading them when everything started to look the same to me. I wasn’t invested enough to buy them and was happy to borrow them.
