February 2018 Overview

Looking Back

Reading Stats

February was a little out of the ordinary for me. I only listened to one audiobook out of the 12 books that I finished. This also means I read more pages in print and ebook last month, getting though 3,937 pages. That’s more in January, even though I got through three more titles then. As for audiobooks, I listened to 5:37 hours (equalling 216 pages). The total equivalent was 4,153 pages. My average rating for these books was good too at 3.718 out of 5.

  12. The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo | Rating: 3.889

*Note on ratings: I rate books on a scale of 0 to 5, 0 being the worst and 5 being the best. I first rate various aspects such as prose, characterisation, plot, originality, etc. Then I average these out for my overall ratings. To obtain my star ratings, I round to the nearest 0.5.

TBR Pile

TBR Reduction

Books I hauled in February 2018

For the first time in ages, I didn’t buy a single book for an entire month. This means I spent S$0 on books in February, which I’m pretty pleased about. I mean, I reached a thousand dollars each of the past four years, so there’s that. I did still haul 8 books, however, thanks to HarperCollins and Pansing Books who sent me a few titles for review. I read nine books from my TBR pile. This means at the end of February, my TBR reduction tally was -5 for 2018.

YAY for cutting down your TBR pile! I always tell myself I’m going to work on mine during the year … and last year, I read the same amount of books I purchased. I will consider that a WIN since I bought/received so many books in 2014 and 2015. Also, I love the Kindle photo you look! I always find it hard to take a picture of my ebooks, but you made it look so good! I tend to read ebooks over physical copies (because it’s easier to read in bed, haha) but I always want to choose a physical book because I like how the cover photographs better! But now I’m going to challenge myself to take photos of my ebooks! :)
