On the Upcoming Kindle Oasis

April 15, 2016

On the Upcoming Kindle Oasis; Some personal thoughts from an ebook-loving bibliophileI wanted an ebook reader since I was 9 years old. That was in 1999. Back then they didn’t exist in the market. Hardly any bibliophile even dreamt of one. I first learnt of its early developments through Medizini, a monthly poster magazine for children available at German apothecaries. They used to have a column predicting inventions of the near and distant future. None fascinated me more than a tablet for reading digital books.

THE GIRL FROM EVERYWHERE by Heidi Heilig

April 7, 2016

Book cover & rating - THE GIRL FROM EVERYWHERE by Heidi HeiligTime travel in books is my weakness. I used to actively seek them out as a kid. Nowadays reading about such stories feels like visiting old friends. Sadly, The Girl from Everywhere didn’t quite have enough of it. The setting of The Girl from Everywhere was predominantly Honolulu 1884. There were glimpses of India, New York and China from various eras but not a lot happened in these places. Being stuck in Hawaii for so long gave rise to a slower moving plot than I had anticipated.

Bookstagram 101: 28 Post Ideas — Get back to basics when you're in a creative funkInspiration is sometimes hard to come by, especially when the subject matter constantly is books. My personal worry is that with time my photos will start to look the same. There are only so many ways to turn a book. Book stacks are popular but there’s not much to them beyond y’know, stacking books.
