VICIOUS by V.E. Schwab

September 1, 2015

Book cover & 4.5-star rating - VICIOUS by V.E. SchwabGoing into books blind, particularly books like Vicious, can be infinitely thrilling. You enter unexplored land and everything is new. You don’t follow the tracks paved by expectations built upon the reading experiences of others. The cover states that it’s “a twisted tale of ambition, desire and superpowers”. It’s very correct in that description. That’s your starting point if you’re up for a thrill. If that’s you, then go on, pick up the book, read it and return to my review later to share your excitement. Now, if you’d rather know what you’re getting yourself into, read on.

NIMONA by Noelle Stevenson

August 29, 2015

Book cover of NIMONA by Noelle StevensonNimona was something else. All I knew was that it’s a hyped up graphic novel and for someone clueless about them, I was looking for a place to start. I found my library had it, so I decided to borrow it the rest is history. I thoroughly enjoyed Nimona for being so refreshingly different. While the style of graphics didn’t entirely match my taste, it was consistent and very well done. Coupled with the premise, I found myself wanting me when I was done and closed the book.
