A Basic Guide to Managing TBR Piles

September 5, 2014

Basics for Managing Your TBR PileSo many books, so little time! It doesn’t help when the list of books we intend to read are out of control. That TBR list is supposed to help us keep track of books we definitely want to read, so that we don’t lose track. Once it has grown out of proportion though, that list no longer helps us stay on task. In order to combat this problem, I have put together a list that serves as a handy guide to managing TBR piles.

Book Cover Culture #4: Every Day

September 4, 2014

BCC #4 - Every Day - Letztendlich sind wir dem Universum egal - David LevithanIt’s about time I took a look at a book I’ve already read. As I scanned through my recent books on Goodreads, Every Day by David Levithan caught my eye. THE XX FACTOR by Alison Wolf

September 3, 2014

THE XX FACTOR by Alison WolfPrior to this review, I never did post any non-fiction reviews. I confined myself to fiction on the blog but since I read all sorts of books, I feel that my reviews should reflect that. After all, celebrating the love for books shouldn’t be confined to any particular genre. With that, here’s to the first non-fiction book review on Word Revel!

Retrospect #35: August 31st

August 31, 2014

Reading - My Best Friend Maybe by Caela CarterYou know those weeks that pass you by and you’re not really sure what happened or where that week disappeared to? Yeah, I had one of this weeks. It happened, and now it’s gone. I know I had a friendly match, that I tutored, etc but somehow I think I was on auto-pilot for the most part.

My Issue with Book Porn

August 28, 2014

Bookstagram PhotosBook porn is a thing. While not as wide-spread as food porn, among the camera-wielding, photo-oggling bibliophiles, book porn is a rising trend (I made that up. I don’t have stats to back up this claim but I stand by it anyway.)
