Love-A-Thon 2016 IntroductionAfter participating in last year’s Love-A-Thon and coming across some amazing people, I knew I had to take part again this year. In fact, I was the first person to sign up this year. Yep, I wear that as a badge of pride. Hah.

Project 52 – Forced to Read

February 19, 2016

Bookish Scene: Forced to Read— Flaubert's ParrotWhen I thought about books I’ve been forced to read, naturally I was reminded of school. With so many reading lists and set texts I’ve worked myself through, there are many books that I was forced to read. The one that’s most stuck in my mind to this day is Flaubert’s Parrot by Julian Barnes. It was required reading for my tenth grade Literature class, and it’s possibly the only book I’ve ever read five times.

Book cover & rating - MAYBE IN ANOTHER LIFE by Taylor Jenkins Reid

After Why?, I’m certain the most popular question is, What if? Second-guessing our choices is human nature. Maybe in Another Life taps precisely on this. What if Hannah chooses to do one thing? Project 52 – Heart

February 12, 2016

Bookish Scene: Heart — Beautiful Broken ThingsIt’s Valentine’s Day this Sunday, so today’s theme kinda is an ode to that. Heart can mean a lot of different things though. While I think it’s important to enjoy the single life if that’s where you’re at, I also believe life is empty without love. That’s why I constantly seek out books that focus on friendship. The heart of a friend is an amazing gift and something to treasure always. And so, in the spirit of friendship, I’m currently reading Beautiful Broken Things by Sara Barnard.
