EQUINOX (The Rosie Black Chronicles #2) by Lara Morgan

January 18, 2014

EQUINOX (The Rosie Black Chronicles #2) by Lara MorganEquinox continues right there where Genesis left off. True to all the twists and turns encountered in the first book of the trilogy, this book serves up many surprises. In the same vain, it was also confusing. Once again, questions spring to mind about who belongs to Helios, who belongs to the Senate and who is following Riley. With all the double crossing and switching sides business, I do recommend reading the books one after the other instead of waiting it out and forgetting about the plot altogether.

THE FALL by Claire Merle

September 23, 2013

Disclaimer: There are spoilers for the first book in the duology, The Glimpse. If you have not read it yet, you might want to check out that review instead. Having read and tremendously enjoyed “The Glimpse”, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on The Fall. I was so excited by the premise of the first…

THE GLIMPSE by Claire Merle

July 20, 2013

London, 2041 — society is divided into the Pures and the Crazies. The Crazies are predisposed to mental illness based on their genetic make-up. The Pures are said to be healthy and must protect themselves to build a stronger race of humanity, devoid of mental illness. Then there’s Ana. This 17-year-old is no ordinary Pure. She…

POSSESSION by Elena Johnson

July 3, 2013

Book cover of POSSESSION (Possession #1) by Elena JohnsonI still am surprised that I made it past the first 100 pages and went on to complete Possession. The writing was mechanical and some parts made next to no sense. Sure, Vi’s world is not a world that we know, so things naturally are different. No matter how different and imaginative her world is though, it is possible to weave in explanations into the story without stilting the writing. Sadly, I was confused and and hated the stilted writing style.
