2018 started off well reading-wise. I finished 15 books last month, which is close to the 16 I got through last year January. While in 2017, the Bout of Books read-a-thon helped get through quite a number of books, this year I only managed 2 books that week. Then I spontaneously joined the 24in48 Readathon because my weekend plans went bust due to the flu and a wrist injury. I got through nearly 5 books. So yes, read-a-thons can be a great motivating factor.

Discontinuing Hot off the Press
December 2017 Overview
Last month, we moved back home, as the major works of our renovations were done. This also meant that I had to avail myself on those days that workers came in to continue, so I didn’t have much spare time left to read. In the end, I read 6 books. Three were hardcovers, two were audiobooks, and one was a paperback.
Hot off the Press – January 15, 2018
This week is a surprisingly quiet publishing week for Young Adult books. Of the books out hit week, I’ve read Love, Hate & Other Things by Samira Ahmed. If you’re up for fluffy romance, definitely pick this one up! At the same time, it deals with Islamophobia, terrorism and white supremacy, which makes it extremely relevant today.
