Taking #bookthroughphone photos isn’t difficult in itself. All you need is a camera phone, a second camera and your book.
Photography: Even Light with the Burn Tool
Sometimes the light conditions aren’t ideal when we do have time to take our bookstagram photos. In this case, I took the photo on an overcast day, so the light in my study wasn’t even. This can be seen by the overexposed book spine which was directly facing my window. This problem can be fixed in Photoshop with the burn tool.
Photography: Changing Hues
When it comes to post-processing photos, I usually try to fix colours such that they’re most true to life. Once in a while though, I find myself playing around with hues; such as the book cover of Vicious compelled me to do. By changing hues, I could render a myriad of alternative versions, which was loads of fun. Occasionally, being able to manipulate those colours can help make a photo stand out more.

Books on Screen: Photographing eBooks and Audiobooks
Book photography doesn’t have to be confined to printed books. Photographing ebooks and even audiobooks can result in equally stunning photos. If anything, the fun in photographing ebooks and audiobooks lies in the challenge they pose. Bookshelves and book stacks are not an option but there are other ways to add interest to digitised books.
