Mise-en-scène #10: Flowers

March 28, 2015

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky among IxorasIxora have been fiercely in bloom lately, so they were the first flowers that came to my mind for this week’s theme. They also reminded me of The Perks of Being a Wallflower, which I’ve yet to read. There’re just so many books you’d expect a bookworm to have read, I sometimes feel that it’s impossible to keep up. At least I know I’ll never run out because I’ll always have a whole row of good unread books to look forward to.

What’s the Point of Abridged Audiobooks?

March 26, 2015

Listening to an audiobookWhen it comes to reading, I don’t discriminate against any format. I read printed books, ebooks and audiobooks. In fact, I have great appreciation for audiobooks. Where my love falls short though is abridged audiobooks. What’s the point of them?! I ask myself every time I stumble across them.

Preview: Shadow and Bone

March 25, 2015

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo on a Window LedgeShadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo has been on my TBR pile since last year but I put off reading it for the vainest reason: I wanted to own a matching set of the trilogy. The edition I had chosen was the UK paperbacks published by Orion Books. That purple cover of Shadow and Bone completely won me over! Trouble is, this particular edition of Ruin and Rising (the third book) will only be released June 4, 2015.

Retrospect #63-64 (Double Edition): March 22

March 24, 2015

Book Haul for week of March 22, 2015Yesterday marked the last day of my 2014/15 floorball season and I’m proud to say that my team has been promoted! We were so disheartened when we were relegated during the 2013/14 season, I can still taste the sadness. But we made it back up to the top division and are all excited to prove our worth during the 2015/16 season.

Mise-en-scène #9: Night Stand

March 20, 2015

My Night StandMy night stand isn’t so much a night stand as a small bookshelf. Since I already have the bookshelf and my piano in my room, I didn’t see the need to get a dedicated night stand. I like how spacious the top is, though I don’t have a lot of things on it at the moment.
