THE RULES FOR DISAPPEARING (The Rules for Disappearing #1) by Ashley Elston

January 29, 2014

I’m not sure what it is with me and endings. I noticed that every now and then I get really engrossed in a book, thinking I’ve found one I really enjoy, only to be disappointed by the ending. Maybe it has something to do with cliffhangers? When I first picked up The Rules for Disappearing,…

GOLDEN by Jessi Kirby

January 22, 2014

GOLDEN by Jessi KirbyGolden left me a little torn. On one hand, I really enjoyed it but on the other, it left me feeling unmoved. The prose was beautiful. The introspectiveness of it pulled me right in when I opened the book and read the first few pages.

AN ABUNDANCE OF KATHERINES by John Green

January 8, 2014

AN ABUNDANCE OF KATHERINES by John GreenFor once I’m not entirely sure if my dislike for the book purely stems from the book itself or from the expectations that arose prior to reading the book because a very popular author wrote this. An Abundance of Katherines is the first full-length novel of John Green that I got my hands on. The first sentence had me totally hooked but no single sentence can sustain a whole book. No matter how good that sentence is. Despite my growing reservations, I decided to continue reading, even staying up till 3 a.m. one night just to complete it. Sleep would’ve been time better spent on my part.

OUT OF TUNE by Michelle D. Argyle

December 31, 2013

Out of Tune is the last book I finished reading before the new year, and I am glad that it is also the last one I get to review this year because it’s a good book to remember the end of 2013 by. I thoroughly enjoyed it for the depth it offers alongside the roller…

CREWEL by Gennifer Albin

December 30, 2013

It’s been a while since I read this book. Actually, almost three months. Now that the year is coming to an end, I told myself I couldn’t wait any longer. Otherwise I probably never would write this review. So, it’s mostly based on my lingering feelings and impressions because I can’t remember all the details….
