POSSESSION by Elena Johnson

July 3, 2013

Book cover of POSSESSION (Possession #1) by Elena JohnsonI still am surprised that I made it past the first 100 pages and went on to complete Possession. The writing was mechanical and some parts made next to no sense. Sure, Vi’s world is not a world that we know, so things naturally are different. No matter how different and imaginative her world is though, it is possible to weave in explanations into the story without stilting the writing. Sadly, I was confused and and hated the stilted writing style.

7 CLUES TO WINNING YOU by Kristin Walker

June 29, 2013

Book cover of 7 CLUES TO WINNING YOU by Kristin WalkerDon’t be fooled by the cover. Looking at it made me think the book was gonna be some sad and sappy teenage romance but it’s not. Yes, there is romance but it’s not sappy or annoying. On the whole, I thought it was rather humorous and I appreciated the wit.

THINGS I SHOULDN’T THINK by Janet Ruth Young

June 25, 2013

Book cover of THINGS I SHOULDN'T THINK by Janet Ruth YoungI could not put this book down. I had to know what would happen next. I wanted to know how Dani would come to deal with her thoughts, if she would be able to overcome them, and how. The chapters of Things I Shouldn’t Think were markedly short, so it was easy to fly past the pages.
