MARIAM SHARMA HITS THE ROAD by Sheba Karim

April 12, 2019

Book cover & and 4-star rating for MARIAM SHARMA HITS THE ROAD by Sheba KarimI’m not particularly fond of books in which the entire plot revolves around travelling from point A to point B. Yet, I tend to be drawn to road trip novels. I suppose this stems in part from the fact that I suffer from motion sickness. Actual road trips therefore aren’t exactly enjoyable. And so, reading is a way for me to experience these vicariously. On that front, Mariam Sharma Hits the Road absolutely delivered. I felt right at home with this trio.

WHAT IF IT’S US by Becky Albertalli & Adam Silvera

March 22, 2019

Book cover & and 4-star rating for WHAT IF ITS US by Becky Albertalli and Adam SilveraBelieve it or not, there was a time that I loved cute romance books and adored books with meet cutes. As I hit my twenties though, I suppose I became somewhat jaded. I hardly reached for these books anymore, and when I did, I didn’t enjoy them anywhere near as much as before. Then along came What If It’s Us. I couldn’t stop smiling while reading it!

ON THE COME UP by Angie Thomas

February 20, 2019

Book cover & and 5-star rating for ON THE COME UP by Angie ThomasBooks about music usually are full of heart and soul. On the Come Up is no exception. In fact, it far surpassed more than a few of such books I’ve loved before. On that front, I actually am a bit surprised. I knew that coming from Angie Thomas, this one would be a good book. However, hip hop isn’t generally on my radar, so I did go in with slightly tempered expectations.

VENGEFUL by V.E. Schwab

December 26, 2018

Book cover & 5-star rating - VENGEFUL by V.E. SchwabWhen I first heard that Vicious, a book that was published as a standalone, was going to have a sequel, I wasn’t all too excited. I didn’t think it needed a sequel. Plus, I didn’t want to be disappointed by yet another title shoved into a series that it wasn’t supposed to be a part of.

ARCHENEMIES by Marissa Meyer

November 25, 2018

Book cover & rating - ARCHENEMIES by Marissa MeyerWhen Renegades came out last year, I liked it but didn’t love it. At the same time though, I thought this new series had potential and was excited to continue reading. Now I’m happy to report that Archenemies lived up to those expectations. It’s everything I hoped for and more!
