It happened! I like a book precisely because of the romance. Of course there’re other factors involved but The Distance Between Us swept me off my feet. It was sweet, good light-hearted fun reading this book. I found so many reasons to laugh from the beginning right through to the end, which I loved. I like books that make me laugh. They’re such stress-relievers and wonderful distractions.
16 THINGS I THOUGHT WERE TRUE by Janet Gurtler
16 Things I Thought Were True is a misnomer. The proper title should have been 17 Things I Thought Were True. Yes, there were 17 things, not 16. Each of there were numbered, so I wonder why the title wasn’t changed or if it was too late to change the title, why the hashtag #thingsithoughtweretrue wasn’t capped at 16 times. The 17th occurrence could have used a different hashtag—one that could’ve ended this book with a bang.
I LOVE I HATE I MISS MY SISTER by Amélie Sarn
I Love I Hate I Miss My Sister arrived in the mail yesterday, just about a week after publication. When I had it in my hands, I did something I rarely do when a book arrives: read. Since I Love I Hate I Miss My Sister is such a short book, I decided to keep reading, thinking I might as well finish it one go. And finish it I did. I started reading at 10 p.m. and was done by 12.30 a.m. Just as well, since I pre-ordered it.
THE FAULT IN OUR STARS by John Green
I braved the hype and finally read The Fault in Our Stars. Before I read this book, I knew surprisingly little about it, considering the massive popularity and the release of the movie. Of course I knew that John Green wrote it and that it was about cancer. For the most part, I managed to skip past all the spoilers, especially on Tumblr. Although I didn’t manage to escape the metaphor of the cigarette. Then again, I couldn’t make heads or tails of it, so it didn’t matter in the end.
THERE WILL COME A TIME by Carrie Arcos
There Will Come a Time was such a great book for me. I know it’s supposed to be a very sad book as it deals with the the loss of a twin in a car crash. For what it’s worth though, I enjoyed There Will Come a Time very much. It was so moving due to the emotions that were palpable throughout the book.
